Flexible Display Technology

Flexible display technology with arbitrary bending is becoming the focus of the whole electronic product industry. Compared with traditional LCD, OLED technology is used to replace liquid crystal for flexible display, and a plastic substrate is used to replace traditional glass substrate to achieve a "flexible" effect. At the same time, the flexible display screen based on OLED technology has the advantages of low power consumption, small size, portability, deformability, etc., and its application fields are very wide. With the continuous progress and improvement of electronic technology, flexible display technology has the characteristics of humanization, mobility, lightweight, power saving, cheaper, diversified, easy to operate, easy to carry, and in line with the requirements of ergonomic design, many electronic products will be redefined in the future, and even more application fields will be developed in the fields of automobile, building materials, and home furnishings

OLED can be divided into AMOLED and PMOLED technologies. AMOLED is active-matrix OLED (active matrix OLED) and passive matrix OLED (passive matrix OLED). Both of them belong to OLED. The difference is that the driving mode is different. PMOLED is composed of cathode and anode in the matrix, and lights up the pixels in the array by scanning. Each pixel is operated in short pulse mode, which is instantaneous high brightness. The advantages are simple structure, which can effectively reduce the manufacturing cost, but the high driving voltage makes PMOLED not suitable for large size and high-resolution panel. AMOLED uses an independent thin-film transistor to control each pixel, and each pixel can continuously and independently drive the light. It can be driven by low-temperature polysilicon or oxide TFT. The advantages of AMOLED are low driving voltage, long life of light-emitting elements, low cost, more complex manufacturing technology, and higher cost.http://www.china-polyimide.com
